Employing Undocumented Workers in the UAE will be Fined Dh50,000 for Each Illegal Worker

Employing undocumented workers in the UAE will cost you a hefty fine, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.

The authority reiterated on Monday that individuals or companies that employ undocumented workers in the UAE will be fined Dh50,000 for each illegal worker.

Repeat offenders will be given a fine of Dh100,000. For each instance, illegal workers caught in the UAE will also be deported.

The authority said it will work with the Ministry of Human Resources Emiratisation to conduct regular inspection campaigns at workplaces and accommodations to spot violators.

The authority’s warning came amid the UAE’s three-month amnesty period, which ends of October 31. The amnesty allows people who have entered the UAE illegally or have overstayed their visa to regularise their status for a minimal fee or leave the country without paying fines.

Those found flouting UAE residency rules after October 31 will face arrest and tougher legal action, said Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Director of Residency Affairs at the authority.
