Today, young children see Gloria Romero as a grandmother in the GMA show “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko”, known as “Lola Goreng”. She is an 86-year-old veteran actress in the entertainment industry. Gloria has been an actress for 6 decades. If you would ask your grandparents about Gloria Romero, they will tell you that she became part of the sensational stars who played iconic roles in their younger years.

Gloria’s first TV appearance was in the film “Ang Bahay sa Lumang Gulod”. She played as an extra in this film under Premiere Productions in 1949. The actress signed a new contract with Sampaguita Pictures. She played as the daughter of Cesar Ramirez and Alicia Vergel in the film, Madame X in year 1952. The production team saw Gloria’s potential. Gloria was given her first lead role with Oscar Morena in the film “Monghita”.

Gloria’s showbiz career became successful and she received numerous TV and big-screen projects. She had accepted a total of 200 films and TV shows by the age of 59 years old. The veteran actress showed her pure talent and received acting awards such as Best Actress in “Dalagang Ilocana” which was given by in Filipino Academy of Motion Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) on 1955. Gloria received the lifetime achievement award from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board. In Eastwood City in Libis, you can see her name cemented in the walk of fame in the Philippines. This walk of fame also looks like the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
