Lockdown Stories: Willie Revillame Joins Stars Who Help People of the Philippines

After being stranded in Perto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, you would think that Willie Revillame would focus on staying safe. But the Wowowin host thinks about his ‘kababayans.’ This rich celebrity is still finding ways to extend help to the disadvantaged.

Willie asked his similarly rich friends and sponsors for help with donations. And they obliged!   One of the first ones to answer his plea are the owners of Frontrow Networking. Owners Sam Versoza and RS Francisco promised to give Php1M and 20,000 face masks. The management of Herbs & Nature, Inc. also promised to give medicines to elders and children.

He also beamed that his group gave rice, coffee, and medicines to officers at checkpoints in Puerto Galera. The host-comedian is praying, not only for the country but also for people worldwide suffering the same fate from the virus.

His only wish is that for everyone to do their part in following instructions from the authorities. The government announced the enhanced quarantine so that people can stay safe and avoid acquiring the virus. This is a difficult time, especially for the poor population.

The government and private entities are reaching out to help the disadvantaged. The quarantine is not meant to harm people, but help in lowering the COVID-19 cases. Though earning at this time is hard for everyone as many companies can’t afford to pay their employees while operations are halted, the government is trying to give financial assistance.

Many businesses and other government agencies are now announcing leniency periods for different monthly payments like Meralco. All small details can help out in the end.

Thanks to all the people helping out, the Philippines will survive. It won’t be easy, but with the cooperation of citizens, the country will be COVID-free one day.
