Showtime Host and All-Around Performer Vice Ganda Rides a Chopper for Mindoro Relief Operation

Showtime host Vice Ganda is not only making Filipinos laugh. He is also helping people in need. The recent “typhoon Tisoy” caused havoc in many parts of the Philippines. One of the provinces it devastated is Oriental Mindoro. Having a good heart, Vice Ganda or Jose Marie Borja Viceral in true life flew to this part of the country through a chopper. The typhoon with international name Kammuri came into the Philippine area of responsibility last December 2.

On December 6, Friday, Vice flew to the area via a helicopter to provide a relief operation. He didn’t finish his show and went there right away. Vice posted many Instagram stories as he went on his way to the area. He rode the chopper from the rooftop of the ELJ Building of the broadcasting giant ABS-CBN. Vice also posted on his Twitter account about his activities in the province.

He commended the residents of the province stating that the people are courageous despite what they suffered from. He shared how happy they were upon seeing him. The relief operation was a blessing for everyone including Vice who saw their resilience. The residents couldn’t believe Vice Ganda visited them that they were still trying to get a hold of him even when he was already going back to the chopper.

 

The staff of the famous personality got afraid for his sake but the actor/singer/comedian carried on. He was just happy he was able to help. To this date, the damages in Oriental Mindoro amount to about Php156M. This is according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). There were 5 casualties and 19 injuries due to the typhoon. Structures like schools and more were also destroyed.
