SM College Scholarship Programs for SY 2018-2019

SM Foundation has been creating opportunities to those deserving individuals through scholarship program. According to Henry Sy Sr., the foundation aims to offer college scholarship and technical-vocational scholarship grants.

SM College Scholarships 

The SM Foundation has been providing scholarship program for more than 20 years. It’s because they believe that helping one family member to graduate from college is a big thing to the entire family. The graduate scholar can be the key to save their family from poverty and at the same time help another sibling to enroll.


Who are qualified to apply for SM college scholarship?

To qualify for the SM Foundation college scholarship grant, you must be:

  • A public or private high school graduate
  • The annual household income must be not more than Php150,000 certified by the BIR
  • Grade 12 graduates must have a general weighted average of 88% during the second or third periodical exams

Basic requirements for SM College Scholarship

The applicant must secure and submit the following basic requirements:

  • Photocopy of 4th year or grade 12 report card
  • Photocopy of BIR Certificate of non-filing of Income Tax or Income Tax Return

Applicants must wear complete school uniform with ID and bring ballpen upon visiting any SM branch where you intend to file the application for scholarship grants.

Technical-Vocational Scholarships

Graduates of tech-voc programs are in-demand in the labor market both local and abroad. This is the reason why the SM Foundation is offering technical-vocational scholarship grants through their partner schools. The main targets of this program are the out-of-school youth. These individuals will have the opportunity to harness their skills even without going to college.

Who can apply for tech-voc scholarships?

The applicant should be a high school graduate and must submit the documents required by the partner schools. Tech-voc courses offered include automobile mechanic, food and beverage, refrigeration and air-conditioning, electro-mechanical technician, filter machinist, electromechanics, and small arc welding.

Full tuition subsidy is given by the foundation to its partner schools. Aside from the OJT internship, scholars can find job to the industry partners after graduation.


Qualified applicants will be taking the examination that is scheduled in the month of February and March. You can visit the official website of the SM Foundation to know the schedule of exam of the SM branch from where you have filed your application.
