Very Cool Dad, Ian Veneracion Accepts that His Daughter is a Lesbian

Ian Veneracion is a veteran actor in the Philippine TV. He started in the industry as a child star when he was only 7 years old. Ian’s first appearance in TV was in the show called “Joey & Son” in 1982. Ian was 12 years old when he became part of “That’s Entertainment”. Ian earned the nickname, “Alyas Baby Face” and “Zaldong Tisoy” at 18 years old. He is now doing supporting and father roles.

He regained leading man status when he was paired with Jodi Sta. Maria in “Pangako Sa’Yo” and with Bea Alonzo in “A Love to Last”. He also played lead in movies like “Achy Breaky Heart”, “Ilawod” and “Bliss”. Not only that, it was discovered that he has a good singing voice and is now doing concerts, too.

“Late bloomer ako as a singer kasi dati, very shy akong kumanta,” Ian confesses at the presscon of his upcoming concert with Ogie Alcasid, “Kilabotitos”. “Nagsimula lang akong kumanta because of my role in ‘A Love to Last’ as a composer. Lumakas na loob ko after that at kumanta ako sa ‘ASAP’.”

Ogie’s company called “A Team”, produced Ian’s solo concert called “Ian in Color”. The concert at the Music Museum was a hit.  Ian thanked Ogie for giving him the opportunity to become a concert artist. Ian joked that he feels in denial when people call him “tito”. Ian said that it is okay because he already turned 45 last February.

Ian said that singing with Ogie was fun. They brainstormed 80s songs that they liked to sing. He said Ogie was a singer who became an actor, while he is an actor who became a singer. Ian said that he and Ogie will give a fun concert to their audience.

Ian and his wife are blessed with one daughter and 2 sons. He revealed that her daughter named Deirdre came out as a lesbian. Ian loves her daughter gave his support. Ian told Deirdre that she doesn’t need to apologize. He said that they will accept her with all their hearts. Ian said that we have only one life so we should be who we want to be. Do not waste your life by hiding your true self.
